I don’t paint people as much as I used to.
There are so many other subjects that I want to explore…
But every now and then, I come across someone I cannot resist.
A particular look, an emotion, a display of unusual character.
A strong beauty that shines through, a posture that is challenging to get down on paper, but is too elegant to let go.
It’s pretty complicated, life as a human being.
We’re all just bozos on the bus, trying to make the best of it.
I paint from a feeling of love and compassion, for myself and for all of us.
