Barran-Guba

The colours of this work are inspired by a painting by Gauguin. I made a quick study based on his work (see second picture below) to get used to all this wonderful brightness.  I wanted to get the feel of a tropical world with its  spice colours and incredible blue sky.
An impression of warmth ; the sound of crickets ; the sweat dripping down your neck…
Barran-Guba is an island off the coast of Australia, sacred to the aboriginals. A picture taken there was the basis for my painting.
